![]() Attending Canyon Creek is a fun service that I believe fits the NHS purpose. It requires both enthusiasm and a desire for service and helps develop the character of all of our NHS members. It also motivates me to serve in the future as it is a service I really enjoy performing. Canyon Creek has taught me to be service oriented and also how to get to know those that I serve. In order to have a really fun time at Canyon Creek you have to get to know the residents there. “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” -Martin Luther King, Jr. We spent the afternoon at Canyon Creek Senior Living on November 16, 2016. We did various activities with the residents there including puzzles, get-to-know-you games, and a very competitive round of bingo. I thought the activity was very entertaining and fun. Although it was not necessarily life-changing, I really enjoyed serving the senior citizens at Canyon Creek. I have appreciated the opportunity to go to Canyon Creek. I feel I have grown as a person this year as I have had the opportunity to serve others, and I am grateful for the experiences I have had. I know the seniors at Canyon Creek love the enthusiasm and fun we bring as teenagers and the service we provide them is really appreciated.
